Little monsters

Lady Gaga is a true artist! Her shows get more wild every time, like when she came out in an egg at the Grammys! She has only gotten crazier over the years and there is no way to not love her creativity and sense of style. From the crazy tall shoes to the ever changing hair to the wild outfits she is a phenomenon. She calls her fans  her "little monsters" which is totally appropriate. Here are some of Gaga's latest costumes.

Flower Power

Flowers are pretty, they are sweet. This Alexander McQueen dress is made of real flowers and is kept at the Alexander McQueen exhibit in New York. I've always tried to make a flower crown like these but they have always ended up breaking.
Happy Summer!

The Little Mermaid

Finally! Fall 2011 Couture is HERE! I LOVE Couture and am greatly inspired by it. As you probably have figured out, I usually go for the bright, loud, uncomfortable-to-the-eye pieces or the soft, feminine, pretty pieces. So it probably isn't a surprise that I chose these loud pieces to display on my blog as my favorites so far. The season is young and I can't wait to see what it has in store!

To me, these totally remind me of The Little Mermaid and tropical fish and Nemo. The second to last piece is so well constructed and is so beautiful it just blows me away. Doesn't the last one look just like a jellyfish? And the 4th to the bottom looks just like Ariel!

Puppet

This is from Vogue's December 2008 issue. Vogue always has its own style and is always surprising. From platform shoes to poofy skirts to paper lantern dresses to wooden skirts to over-the-top hair this is just amazing. The weird paper lantern dress and the bubble dress both look like they came from outer space and are amazing a so creative. Don't they look like puppets? Overall this was very interesting and exciting, don't you think?

Happy summer!

Pattern Play

Turbines, prints and lace oh my! It’s like this collection was made for me! The Missoni Resort collection did such a great job fitting everything together just perfectly. I love the shoes and socks the best because they have so much energy and life to them. This collection was inspired by the beach with a bit of the 70's mixed in there and has a flowy, airiness to it that lightens the mood and makes everything happy and carefree. All in all this was a very breezy, light collection that I really like. Thanks!

Summer

Ahhhhhhhhhh the lazy days of summer. Sitting on lawn chair drinking coke and eating ice cream. Waking up late and going to bed late. One day of summer and I already on that schedule.

Doesn't it look nice?
Happy Summer!

Getch'ya Groove On!

Right now I'm in that 70s/ boho mood that just says summer. I love the big hair and the short dresses and the hippy looks! I'm not really in the disco mood (yet) so no big Afro's for me! Enjoy the 70s pics! Happy Summer :)

All hail Mr. McQueen-part 2

Sorry for the lack of posts lately, but we have been away in New York! We went to the Alexander McQueen exhibit and it was phenomenal. It was by far my favorite part of the trip. There are these different rooms with different themes that had eerie feelings to it but that just adds to the beauty. Here are some pictures of just a few of the designs. (sorry most of the heads are cut off).

Lots of these were hand-stitched and had millions of beads. The feathers were mostly real too and they covered the body entirely. You can't see it in these pictures bu most of the heads have something on them too. The were usually mask type things that covered the whole face. All in all, this was a great exhibit and it was so amazing to see lots of my favorite designers work.
